Overall, Outback Steakhouse is a successful and profitable company. However, if it were to follow through on the recommendations that we have listed it could cut a substantial amount of waste and reduce its losses. At the same time Outback Steakhouse would be increasing its profits and reducing its carbon footprint by reducing the amount of waste it produces through overproduction and through expired inventory. This would benefit Outback Steakhouse while also benefiting the world by helping to decrease global warming. Should the company follow our recommendation of creating a delivery system they can also reduce their carbon footprint by using biodegradable containers. Outback Steakhouse also has the ability to go one step further by turning its inedible waste into compost for farmers to use.
Outback Steakhouse also needs to create a better system to monitor its TQM process. This will allow them to accomplish their goal of supplying quality services and meals. They might have to increase the amount of customer surveys that they send out as well as increasing the amount of time used for the studies that they perform. By improving on these subjects they will stand out from their competitors which will bring them more business. Outback Steakhouse should also offer its employees incentives for being a good waiter/waitress. This would motivate their employees to constantly improve and strive to satisfy their customers. Outback Steakhouse is currently moving in a positive direction. With these recommendations that we have provided, the company will be able to surpass its competitors in their niche market, increase its profits, decrease waste and reduce their carbon footprint.
